A Vintage Layout Using a Modern Paper Range by Leonie Neal-Dawson

Posted by Leonie on

Hello Sassy Scrappers lovely to be back sharing with you this week.
Again I'm using the My Minds Eye - Cut and Paste Flair range.
The full range of papers and embellishments can be found in the
Sassy Scrappers store HERE

I know this MME range isn't your classic vintage style.
In fact it has quite a modern tone to it, but I thought it really suited this old B&W photograph.
Perhaps it's the large percentage of black in the range.
You know the old saying
'black goes with anything' well it certainly works in this case.

Wood Veneers are so popular at the moment.  The ones used here
are by Freckled Fawn.  The little hearts are just such a cute little finishing touch.

I created my own lollipop flower, just like the ones that you get in the MME packet of brads.
By layering a few freestyle handcut circles
out of the various My Minds Eye papers.  I scrunched the circles, distressed the edges
and finally secured them all together with a brad.
I'm sure you can tell which is mine from the wonky looking circles!! But really
it was so easy to recreate this embellishment.

On the background I've used the 12x12 Confetti stencil by
The Crafters Workshop with Dazzlerz Paint
which has a cool thick consistency and a nice shimmer.
I've never used these paints before but,
I'm definitely going to be buying some more of these in other colours!

Listed below are all the products from the Sassy Scrappers store that I used
in creating this layout.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Enjoy  your day.
Cheers,
Leonie Neal-Dawson.
