Agnus | Mixed Media Pocket Pages with Dylusions Paints
Posted by Agnus K on
I am playing with the fun 'Oh My Heart' collection from Pink Paislee, adding some bright pops of colour with Dylusions paints and a few rose gold highlights.
I gave this card a few metallic highlights with some rose gold paint, and used my favourite inkpad to stamp a simple sentiment onto the photo. The small size of the planner stamps is perfect for using with pocket pages.
I also used Dylusions paint to stamp some cute plus sign images onto a few of my pics. These paints are very fluid and dry quickly which makes them perfect for stamping, and I have found that applying a little bit of paint onto non-stick craft sheet or non-stick mat then using a blending sponge to apply a thin layer of paint onto the stamp gives the best results. I mixed 'Polished Jade' with a little bit of 'White Linen' to get this gorgeous colour.
Reaching for more planner supplies with my roller date stamp - I also added printed journal strips and simple die-cut hearts to one of the fun sayings from one of the patterned papers. I always look for papers with cut-apart sayings as they are an easy and inexpensive way to add detail to your pages.
I watered down the metallic paint to add a few random paint drops by simply tapping my brush in a horizontal position over the card, and I like the way the little drops help to highlight the rose gold colour of the foiled card.
We spent some time at the coast for the second part of the week, and I have repeated the same patterns and colours across the page.
I used more metallic stitching to bring out the foiled detail from the cut-apart pieces.
I also die-cut a few hearts from my patterned paper to help ground the journal strip.
Using the printed pattern as a guide, I added a little bit of Dylusions paints over the design to create some vibrant custom backgrounds. I used a flat brush to apply the paint - dabbing off the majority of the colour onto a paper towel, then used light strokes to apply a very thin layer of paint. The paint dries very fast and because the layers were so thin, there were no problems with the paper buckling. I applied some rose gold metallic paint in the same way and watered down some the paint to create some subtle paint droplets using the same technique mentioned for the filler card from the first side of the page.
